Acts of psychic self-mutilation and assaults on self-esteem

I engaged in these acts of psychic self-mutilation that society expected of me. And I had many patriarchal men who enacted these rituals of power that assaulted my self-esteem, leaving deep wounds of shame.

Years of hard work in therapy and in AA/12 Step Spirituality are enabling me to heal, become a whole person, and reclaim my sense of self-worth.
