Society and my parents indoctrinated me with the “John Wayne Ethos.” A man is supposed to be tough, strong, detached from his emotions, and to never cry or show weakness.
That form of cultural abuse and inhumanity has damaged men, and severely stunted our emotional/spiritual natures, for many years.
