Dedicating my run today to all of us who endured a childhood of fat shaming and forced diets that resulted in a sick relationship with food, an eating disorder, compulsive overexercise, and/or body dysmorphia.
A year ago, at age 54, I was at least 40 pounds overweight and hadn’t run in years. Had to walk the 600 yard dash years ago in elementary school P.E.
Today, by God’s grace, and months of endurance training, I ran a 10K (6.2 miles) at a pace of 12:32/mile.
My muscle mass and endurance have increased, but I am still carrying belly fat. And you know what? I don’t give a fuck! 👊🙏👍
