Move Out of Your Comfort Zone

There’s an AA saying that rather than recover, we sit in our own shit. Because, nasty as it is, it is familiar and uncomfortable.

My experience in years of Recovery has been that each time I try a new modality or strategy, it moves me out of my comfort zone . Awkward and uncomfortable on steroids! So much so that the desire to say “F’ Everything And Run” (FEAR) has been nearly unbearable at times.

But I have learned to stick with new behaviors and ways of thinking long enough to see whether or not they work for me. And if they do, I stick with them.
