Obsessions and ruminations are Hell. Prayers up for those who experience them

Before I got into Recovery and, over the years, learned to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to redirect my thoughts, to overcome my shame for having them and verbalize them to another person, to accept them rather than trying to will them away, to take prescribed medication, and to utilize more adaptive ways of coping with anxiety, obsessive thinking and ruminations dominated me.

Day after day, it was a steady barrage of mental torture as intrusive, relentless, worrisome thoughts would run through my mind over and over again, wringing every last drop of joy out of the fabric of my life.

Obsessions and ruminations are Hell. Prayers up for those who experience them.
