Above are examples of the toxic, shaming self-talk that immiserates, depresses, and sometimes causes suicidal ideations in abuse survivors and those with mental Illness.
These relentlessly intrusive and repetitive shaming inner voices are excruciating and impossible to “will away.”
But with various recovery tools, they can be countered and diminished.
